Before training with Kathryn, our dog Teddy had some major behavioral issues. He had begun to resource guard us, his owners. He did not understand boundaries around people but especially other dogs. As a bright dog who learns quickly, he knew many commands but did not comprehend "stop" and "stay." He was a leash puller and was always in control of walks outside. Teddy is a very strong dog with high energy, so these issues were becoming out of control.

As owners who want him to have the best quality of life, we were very frustrated and approaching our breaking point. We knew that if we didn't set him up for success as a puppy, he would not become the adult dog we knew he could be. 

After Teddy's board and train with Kathryn, he was a completely new dog behaviorally! He was still our goofy, sweet boy with a big personality but respected our authority and requests and had more confidence. He learned boundaries, no longer resource-guarded us (his owners), and was confident in the commands he already knew and the ones he learned while in training. His understanding of door manners, how to heel, the commands "come" and implied "stay," and how he carries himself as a young adult dog has been incredibly impactful and life-changing for him and us!

Our pets are not here forever, and it is our job to give them the best life we can while we have them! Living downtown with a dog is a wonderful experience. Walking Bailey is a big part of my social interaction each day. You meet great people, and you meet so many fun dogs. One of the reasons I enjoy it so much is that my Bailey is very well behaved!

Bailey is cute and small but would be very irritating to other dogs and their owners. She would run away from me, terrifying! Because of her size, I hesitated to have her trained but what a good decision! After working with Kathryn, she no longer jumps on people or other dogs, she stays by side and comes when I call. My walks are controlled and more relaxing. She sits at the crosswalks and waits for my command!

I’m also a grandmother of three young boys. Because of Kathryn’s training, I am confident that Bailey will not jump on the boys or hurt them in any way. They play together all the time and are upset if she is not with me when I visit.

People often comment about how nice it is to be around Bailey, a well behaved dog. Bailey is more relaxed and so am I. I look forward to being with her for a very long time.

Kathryn at The Every Day K9 is AMAZING! We sent our dog Cash there for a 2-week board and train, and the difference is night and day. Before his training, Cash had issues with jumping and recall, but Kathryn's techniques and dedication worked wonders. We've seen a tremendous improvement in his behavior which has made our daily lives much smoother and more enjoyable.

We also leave Cash with Kathryn whenever we're out of town, and it's like his second home. He's always super excited to go there and comes back exhausted (in the best way), and always behaves even better than when we left him. We have two golden retrievers named Hook and Vienna. Kathryn trained Hook in 2017, and Vienna in 2022.

Hook was very hyper as a puppy and at times would be aggressive on walks. It was hard at times to be around other people and dogs. My husband and I have no training when it comes to dogs and we both knew we needed help.

Kathryn is truly amazing as a trainer and a person. It was incredible to watch Hooks training after we dropped him off from the videos she sent and the updates we received over his two weeks. The day we picked Hook up from training Kathryn met with us and went over all the training commands and Hook was a totally different dog. It was truly amazing and when we got Vienna we didn't have to think twice about getting her set up for training.

We highly recommend Kathryn for any training your dog needs. Hook and Vienna are amazing, well trained and are the best dogs we could ever have.
